Huddersfield Partnership aims to provide solutions to preventing business crime in the town and has created a business crime partnership initiative that supports the ethos of creating a safer town centre and by doing so combating crime; particularly by aiding theft prevention efforts. The Partnership aims to facilitate the gathering and sharing of intelligence to enable the effective prevention of crime and disorder.
We work with key partners such as West Yorkshire Police (Huddersfield), Kirklees Council and Apex Radio Systems Ltd which thus far, has helped numerous businesses in Huddersfield Town Centre reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in and on their premises. Through launching the business crime partnership, we aim to see businesses working more effectively with us, the police and the local authority to create a safe and stable business environment.
Littoralis is our newest partner, who specialise in on-line publishing, secure intranets, document management solutions and self-certification systems. With the help of Littoralis, the Partnership now delivers two specific services that aid crime reduction to support any business operating in the town particularly retailers, bars and pubs.
The Disc software delivers criminal intelligence and information to businesses in the town centre in real time. Members can view galleries of individuals that are engaged in criminal and anti-social behaviour in the town.
The intranet can also be used to report incidents and download images captured on camera or CCTV as they are occurring. Through the intranet, every member can receive an e-newsletter and crime alerts with information of benefit to businesses. FREE ACCESS DURING THE MONTH OF MARCH
Radio link Scheme – Digital Radio is the latest technology in two-way communications equipment and has many improved features which will dramatically enhance the system for the benefit of the users.
As a radio link user (whether a business, retailer or licensed establishment), users will get the peace of mind and extra protection of instant communication with fellow radio users. These include existing local businesses, West Yorkshire Police and Kirklees CCTV. The Radio Link is a great tool in communicating those who are known for anti-social behaviour or shop theft who are in the vicinity but the radio is also a great deterrent.
