Huddersfield Partnership & the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) have teamed up to celebrate Small Business Saturday and promote the importance of shopping local this time of year.
Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities. The day itself takes place on the first shopping Saturday in December each year, but the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses.
The Partnership with the help of FSB has collated a guide to promote as many of our fantastic independent local businesses possible. The Partnership hopes that this guide will encourage local residents to support the local economy by visiting the great independent cafés, bars, and fashion outlets and more during this period.
Karen Hobson Partnership Manager said, Huddersfield has a plethora of independent businesses in the town and we felt that as part of Small Business Saturday 2015 it was important to showcase these businesses. Obviously, as Christmas is fast approaching, it’s only natural that people want to shop and spend further afield however; you’d be surprised what gems of small businesses we have in our own town – you just need to explore.
By buying locally we can create a stronger economy! So help the town have great festive season by help us keep the pound in our town!!!
The guides are free of charge and will be distributed around various locations in the town. The brochure also includes some discount offers so it worth trying to get your hands on them. You’ll be able to find them in the some of the featured independent shops and also locations such as Huddersfield Library and Train Station information point.
